Code For Good creates gorgeous sites for small businesses, nonprofits, and churches in SE Portland at prices scaled to you. We think that bangin’ web design and coding should be accessible + affordable for the little guy, not just the big guys. That’s why we code for good, for the rest of us.

Once your site’s up, Code for Good will also optimize your web presence to be found fast. Customers use more than just Google to find businesses, and we’ll help make sure that when they come looking, you’ll be the first to answer.

How do we do it?

We’ll build your site using the powerful WordPress platform. That makes your site super-easy to maintain and expand along with your business. And you won’t have to mess with code to make that happen. Once it’s built, it becomes yours to tinker with or leave be as you wish.

Saying "hi" to your customers shouldn't cost so damn much.

I love how many small businesses and nonprofits operate in Lents, my neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. But looking online, I’d never know they existed! I mean, searching online for restaurants, stores, and places to visit in the hip parts of town is no problem. So why’s it so hard out here in Lents?

And if today’s customers are increasingly using the web to find what they need, what does this mean to the web-absent businesses next door? How will they keep up?

So, I decided that somebody’s got to start coding for the good of the forgotten neighborhoods, for Lents and Brentwood-Darlington and all the other neighborhoods that just don’t show up to today’s consumer. And whoever does this should do it for cheap. We can’t all afford to drop $5,000 on a website. And we shouldn’t have to.

That’s what Code for Good is here for. I’d love to help your business or nonprofit get into the phonebook of the 21st century. Interested? Let’s talk.

After an initial setup fee (<$100) for buying rights and storage for your website, there’s two easy ways to pay and get going.

÷ 2

Pay 20% of estimated cost upfront, then pay the rest when the site’s all set up.

÷ 12

Pay 20% of estimated cost upfront, then pay the rest in eleven more monthly installments.

And with that, the website is yours!

Our average bid for target businesses is 1/2 to 1/5 as much as other professional developers.

Now that’s what we call code for good prices.

Brandon Rhodes

As a lifelong eighth-generation Oregonian, I’ve got roots in the Pacific Northwest that go way back. As a newcomer to outer southeast Portland, I’d like to put down some fresh roots here by serving nearby businesses with great, clean, fairly-priced websites.

I’m also in the middle of doctoral work at George Fox University, studying how localism can become a spiritual habit for Christians. Income from {Code for Good} is my chief way to offset those tuition bills.

I live+love in Springwater, a community in SE Portland’s eclectic Lents neighborhood.

Gardening, reading, writing, and hangin’ out in the ‘hood all make me smile. Also in that category are hammocks, beer, Jesus, and my girlfriend.

Why all that “we” talk all over the site, when it’s just one dude?

I think of {Code for Good} as a relationship between me and my neighborhood. This is bigger than just me because it’s a way of doing business that also seeks the good and satisfaction of you.
